Christmas Muddy Buddies is the only thing I make that I can't stop eating. Every year I will make it for the holidays and fill in Mason Jars for friends and family.

It's my favorite snack to make every year for the holidays. The color of Christmas comes to life when placed in a white bowl for guests to spoon into a cup. It's a busy time of the year and we all need something easy to make so here is my recipe that I turn too every year.

Step by Step Instructions

I use 2 large bowls and 1 medium bowl for the mixture. The first thing I do is set everything on a table to get started.

  • In a large bowl, measure cereal and set it aside.
  • In a 1-quart microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter uncovered on High for 1 minute and stir.
  • Take it out and the vanilla altogether.
  • Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated.
  • Pour into a 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag or a big bowl if you have one. I use my cake cover Tupperware that I have.
  • Add powdered sugar into the bag and seal the bag.
  • Shake until well-coated.
  • Add marshmallows, M&M's, and pretzels, and mix it all together.

Variations - Christmas Muddy Buddies

  • You can add different Christmas candy to mix into the bowl.
  • I sometimes add white and dark chocolate chips.
  • Add some sprinkles for some spark in the mix.

Ways to Serve

I usually will get small Christmas candy bags to pour mix and then give to friends. The other thing I do is place small bowls to place around the table to make the table more festive so people can pick.

Tip & Tricks

Because this is a little messy to mix when I make a bunch, I get the biggest zip lock bags to shake the sugar around or a very large closed container to shake.

I always try to make Christmas Muddy Buddies for the holidays because I know they will be gone by the end of the night. Hope you enjoy this recipe as much as enjoy eating it. Merry Christmas, oxox Lizzy
