    Artisan Flatbread on a plate

Fort Lauderdale Florida Recipe! The best part to a blind date at Season 52 left me with a tasty memory. A golden brown crust flatbread recipe full of flavors. As for the date, I can’t even remember his first name today!

    Artisan Flatbread on a plate

We, the people of America, love flatbread pizza and anything that looks or tastes like pizza . So I decided to make a delicious flatbread version for an appetizer.

    Artisan Flatbread on a plate

The first time I ate flatbread with different toppings was at Season 52 in Fort Lauderdale Florida. It is an art form in this restaurant with a seasonal menu that changes year round.

As my memory recalls, this evening of eating this lovely dish is a happy memory. As for the date, not so much can be said about that evening. I could tell the first 5 minutes that this was not going to go well. So I ordered everything on the menu! I figured if I stuffed my face I would be able to keep my mouth shut and let him talk, which is exactly what happened.

I paid my portion of the bill because this gentleman did not eat his meal. He was unable to stop talking about himself and his child support. Ladies, never date a guy driving a BMW bitching about child support! Just saying... Lizzy!

    Grocery Store Ready-Made Flatbread

A great way to cut time out of my cooking schedule is to buy ready-made flatbread. If you would like to make a homemade flatbread recipe, here is my favorite recipe that never lets me down from Martha Stewart.

    • Trader Joe’s
    • Amazon
    • Publix
    • Whole Foods

    Lifestyle Diet

    • Low-Carb: this is not an ideal recipe for a low-carb lifestyle.
    • Gluten-Free: there are flatbreads that are gluten-free and any recipe can be converted into a gluten-free
    • Vegetarian: veggie can be used along with cheese.
    • Vegan: different vegan cheese can be substituted for the ricotta and parmesan cheese.

    Variations

There are many different types of flatbreads that can be made with different combinations. Here are a of my favorite flat breads.

    • Eggplant + Tomatoes
    • Squash + Red Peppers or any peppers
    • Arugula + Goat Cheese
    • Mozzarella Cheese + Basil + Kalamata Olives
    • Fresh Herbs + Cream Cheese + Red Onion

    Tips And Tricks

    • If I happen to find flatbread on sale I always buy 2 and freeze until it's time to use.
    • If I have any leftover meat of pre-cooked vegetables they are always a good use to top on a flatbread.
    • Another trick that I do sometimes is use Angels Bakery Pita Bread from Wholefoods which is made with whole wheat flour.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make it ahead of time?

This can be made ahead of time and keep in the cooked flatbread  wrapped overnight refrigerator until it's time to cook the next day.

    Have Leftovers?

If I have a few leftovers, just store in sealed bag for the next day, warm up for lunch with a side bowl of lettuce and tomato salad.

I hope you love this recipe as much as I enjoy eating it. See ya next time as my quest continues in search for the perfect bite!.
