Recipe from Florida! Spicy Ham Recipe for Lettuce Wraps with a silky peanut sauce on top for a perfect lunch. So easy to make for my low-carb lifestyle.

    Spicy-Ham-Recipe-for-Lettuce-Wraps-

The first time I ever had these were at the Cheesecake Factory in Boca Raton Florida. It was my favorite thing on the menu and to this day, we have ordered them in every Cheesecake Factory across the country!

I loved the crispy task of the Boston Lettuce also called butter lettuce which holds the filling perfectly. Today I made these at home because it cuts the carb and is super healthy to get your fiber. With my husband's diabetes, I’m always creating meals that cut carbs and make it as flavorful as possible because then he won’t eat it.

I have noticed that people with diabetes tastebud must be enhanced compared to non-diabetics. For one, they crave sugar, it’s like they are craving everything in the world when their sugar is off. So making a healthy tasty meal is important for us.
Let me show you how to make my version of the Cheesecake Factory that will take you no time to make with a little Thai seasoning to spice it up.

    • ¼ cup hot chile sauce
    • 3 garlic crushed

    Lettuce & Toppings

    • 1 head Boston Lettuce
    • ½ cup carrots shredded
    • 1 cucumber sliced julienne
    • 1 avocado diced
    • 2 tablespoon sesame seeds
    • ¼ cup peanuts chopped

    Peanut Sauce

    • ¼ cup vegetable oil
    • ¼ cup peanut butter
    • ¼ cup rice vinegar
    • 3 garlic cloves
    • 2 tablespoon soy sauce

    Instructions

    Ham

    • Cut the ham in bite size and place in a bowl.
    • Add the chile sauce and crushed garlic, mix.
    • Add a little oil to a pan on medium heat. Spoon the ham in the pan and saute while mixing for about 7 minutes. Once it’s a little crispy, spoon on to a plate.

    Peanut Sauce

    • Add oil, peanut butter, rice vinegar, garlic cloves and soy sauce into a blender until it’s creamy and well mixed.
    • Taste to see if salt is needed or a little water if too thick depending on what kind of peanut butter is purchased.

    Assemble the Lettuce Wrap

    • Take a lettuce leaf, place a spoon of ham mixture.
    • Add some of the vegetables.
    • Add the peanut sauce and sprinkle peanuts and sesame seeds, repeat with each lettuce leaf.
    • Serve and enjoy!

    Notes

I usually bake a ham and use it for soup, quiche and use the leftovers for this recipe. Or I buy a small ham and cut that into cubes to use for different recipes.
