Maple Caramel Sauce
I'm going to keep this really simple because it is. It's very simple and I make my own sauce because there are no additives and I can keep for a while. So here is how I make mine.
Add the brown sugar and maple syrup in a saucepan on a medium heat burner, and mix with a whisk while it is melting the sugar. Once that is done, turn the heat down and mix in the heavy cream. It will bubble up so mix quickly until it is a smooth silky that coats the back of the spoon.
Ice Cream
Now this part I usually make homemade ice cream because it is creamy ice cream. My favorite ice cream flavor is vanilla ice cream because you can make any flavor after.
I bought an ice cream maker and never looked back, well worth the money and so much better without the additives.
- Do a scoop of ice cream on top of each donut.
Favorite Toppings
On top of the ice cream it's a great addition to add chocolate chips or melted chocolate, nuts of any kind, sprinkles.
What ever I have at home is what I use.
- Sprinkle mini chocolate chip on top and serve.
Tip & Tricks
I usually buy my donuts the day before and keep them in an airtight container. If I'm having company, I don't like running around before my guest arrives. Nothing worse than feeling tired before the company arrives.
