Americans love a Sunday Breakfast Brunch with home fries that have a crispy layer on the outside, sausage, and eggs that make a perfect crustless quiche, and to finish it off, freshly squeezed orange juice!
How can you not! Sunday morning is what I dream about during the week so I can have Sunday Brunch, and only inAmerica do we have the best breakfast in the world!!! I remember landing in Portugal; we only wanted breakfast after a long flight. Not an egg to be had anywhere! It was only for lunch served with french fries.
If I don't make breakfast for Sunday, there is always a great place to have brunch. Here are some of my favorites that we tend to go to so if you are ever in the area, I highly recommend them.
Popular Spots in the Tampa Bay Area
My top 5 breakfast favorites of trendy brunch spots for a breakfast place in the Tampa Bay Area if you're ever visiting.
- Daily EATS - With outdoor seating, breakfast sandwiches are my go-to for Sunday brunch. It's a great breakfast spot with great food. If you're visiting your child at Tampa University, this is the place to go.
- Psomi - A Michelin Star Bib Gourmand, a Greek-American, is a daytime eatery and bakery with warmth and comfort and my favorite Bougatsa stuffed french toast!
- Sunset Grill - This is a great place for crab cake benedict and hash browns, with brunch side dishes of fresh fruit.
- Home Plate - I love the Huevos Rancheros Burritos better and the pumpkin pancakes on the seasonal menu. It's a Sunday favorite with a brunch cocktail of Bloody Mary when it's game day. The Blue Jay stadium is across the street which is the best way to eat before a baseball game.
- Taqueria Emanuel - If you are a fan of Mexican food such as myself, my favorite breakfast is breakfast tacos and no one makes them better than this local favorite.
These are two delicious recipes that I love to make that are super easy and take no time for my home Sunday brunch. Let me share my go-to recipes for Crustless Quiche and No Boil Home Fries.
My Homemade Weekend Brunch
Grocery List
- Ground Turkey sausage
- Eggs
- Cheddar Cheese
- Parsley
- Potatoes
- Salt & Pepper
Home Fries
- Peel the potatoes and cut them into bite sizes, try to make them the same size, wash and dry them.
- Drizzle the olive oil in a cast-iron pan and on medium heat. Place the potatoes in the pan and mix around, put the lid on top, repeat every about 5 minutes.
- Once the potatoes are almost cooked, remove the lid and raise the heat a little so they can begin to get crispy.
- At this time, when potatoes start getting crispy, add some salt. Add more olive oil if they start to stick to the bottom when the potatoes are flipping with the spatula. Adjust heat as needed to not over-crisp.
Turkey Sausage
- Add a little olive oil to a cast iron pan on a medium pan. Let it crisp up and saute for about 10 minutes until fully cooked. Grease a pie dish and place the turkey sausage into the pie dish.
Crustless Quiche
- Mix the eggs and place them into the pie dish. Spread evenly into the dish.
- With a wooden spoon I make sure the egg mix is evenly distributed. Add the cheddar cheese on top.
- Add a little parsley on top and salt and pepper if you like but I do not because my turkey sausage is so flavorful. I only add the dry parley for a little color.
- Place the dish in the oven at 360º degrees ( my oven runs low, so check your oven)
- It took about 15 to 20 minutes for the crustless quiche to brown a little on top in my oven.
- Test the top to make sure it is firm and then remove from the oven. Serve with home fries and fresh orange juice, Enjoy!
Sunday Afternoon Art Show
One great thing about a Sunday brunch is walking it off and off we went. This is a great time of year in Florida with the weather and weekend Art Shows. I have always loved to go and look around and enjoy the historic district in town by the water.
Main Street is where all the Art Shows and events are held, including Friday and Sunday farmers markets.
I hope you enjoyed traveling with me in the kitchen today and hope you venture out to explore this recipe for your friends and family for a Sunday Breakfast. As our tour comes to an end, with our breakfast on the table, as we say in America, Dig in! See ya next time on my quest for the perfect bite continues!
