We visited the George Washington Masonic Memorial on this hot summer day of 99 degrees. We decided today we were up for the challenge to climb to the top of the George Washington Masonic Memorial, which over looks the city of Alexandria, VA. If you look far in the distance you can see some of DC monuments.
I can tell you that we could have waited until summer had cooled off a bit because we went through one bottle of water before we made it to the top. We have been in the area for 5 months and pass the monument everyday. I can't believe how quick time goes. I feel like I have been here for years.

What is the George Washington Masonic Memorial you ask? The George Washington Masonic National Memorial was built in the 1920s by more than two million American Freemasons. Hopefully not during the summer months! It is dedicated to the memory of George Washington, the first President of the United States and a Mason.
The grounds on the property are beautiful and the view from the top is absolutely breath taking. It over looks the beautiful city of Alexandria and points to historical King Street. As you walk around and read George Washington quotes and look at his art collection, you can see the vision this man had for this country.
We had another history moment and keep saying that every history class should be a tour to DC. and I should be the tour guide! I do all the research before we go somewhere and then play the tour guide for Jeffrey 🙂 By the way an American flag blows in the wind everywhere you turn around.
