It's Cherry Blossoms Season in Washington, DC and we were a little surprised in what we found.
As the season gets closer and the temperature have been so weird from one day 70º and then 30º the next day! All the reports have cherry blossoms are coming early. So off we went on this cold Saturday morning.
Just so you know it is always 10º colder in DC that's only 6 miles away. We always bundle up because it's easier to peel off your layers. I had my new mouse ears on my head for the tour. My husband thought they were the cutest thing and bought them for me. As I walked around DC I got many compliments to my super cute hat.
I love these crispy days that Mother-Nature has to offer. It feels like a big sweep of all the pollution in the air is gone. The bad side is that we were cold all day.
As we see joggers go by with a t-shirt, you can't help but wonder if they are crazy or we are just out of shape? I pick they are crazy.
The blossoms are all around us but some have bloomed, some have dried up from the freeze and others are dormant. They seem to be as confused as we are about the weather.
How can you not believe in global warming at this point. Winter should be cold and gradually warm up. The plant life seems to not know what to do so I can imagine the animals out in the world.
The Marine One to the White House
As we headed back home I can't help but noticed how many people are actually here in the cold. The Cherry Blossoms Festival brings millions of people.
Everyone in town is getting ready for the festival that starts March 25th. It has everything to enjoy with the family or have a romantic date with your loved one.
As always, I ask Jeff, "what he liked about today?" he responded, "being with you."
