Every year, the university had a potluck for Halloween and that was the time to bring a sweet treat for a large crowd. You see this is probably the best team building anyone can do when it revolves around food. You engage by asking "who made that" and "can you give me the recipe," which starts a dialogue and friendships develop. So if we all went back to the basics of kindergarten socializing, the workplace would be where everyone wants to go back after Covid but that is not the case.
Team building can happen at holiday parties with the brainstorming of the new product line being developed. That is what happened to Chex Mix Party Mix. It wasn't until the wife of a Ralston Purina executive, who brought her party mix to a 1955 holiday party in St. Louis, Missouri that it became popular. Today, we have hundreds of recipes, such as Christmas Crack or a mix for Valentine’s Day, and packaged at the store for Chex Party Mix.
Pretzel Caramel Chex Mix is something I know that 99.9% of people will eat at holiday parties. It's the best thing to make in a large quantity without too much work and the bowl is empty before the party is over. Every time I have made this perfect combination of salty caramel no one can resist and we all have a sweet tooth. Let's get started with this recipe!

Ingredients Needed
For the Sauce
- Butter
- Brown Sugar
- Vanilla Extract
For the Mix
- Gluten-Free Rice Chex
- Salty pretzel
- Candy Corn
- Peanuts
- M&M's
Step By Step Instructions
- Warm oven to 300°F.
- Melt the butter, brown sugar, and vanilla in a double boiler with constant whisking on medium-low heat. It should look like caramel sauce when done.
- In a VERY large bowl, add the Chex cereal, pretzels, and peanuts
- Pour the sauce over the mixture and toss gently until evenly coated.
- Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Divide the mixture into baking sheet and spread it into a single layer.
- Place pans in the oven to bake for 45 minutes and stir every 15 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and allow it to cool to room temperature.
- Add the mixture to a large bowl, along with the candy corn and M&M's, and mix together.
