We decided to venture out to the Renwick Gallery in Washington, DC, a 10 minute train ride from home. Before we left on this adventure we packed two (2) egg and cheese sandwiches and snacks.
It's funny how in such a short time living in DC, we have done more walking around in two (2) months then we have in the last four (4 ) years in Florida.
The Renwick Gallery was amazing in its concept of art in a room. Each artist is given a room to call their own to create an outside feeling. Each room represented the wonders of nature.
The newly renovated building was considered at one time the American Louvre. As we waited in line for about an hour, there was a light show shining with nets coming from the ceiling. The lights change with every color creating a wave that passes you by. We feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to live here in Washington and be exposed to such wonderful art, cultural diversity and history. The city is so clean and easy to get around with such little traffic compared to the nightmare in Miami. The best part is public transportation and how clean everything is on the train.
ADMISSION is free to the Renwick Gallery
