Recipe from Georgia, USA! Easy to Make Brunswick Stew Recipe in a Pressure Cooker that took 30 minutes to make. After visiting Charleston South Carolina and having Brunswick Stew I had to get the recipe, which came from Georgia.
This is considered a real Southern dish that is commonly seen on a menu. I decided to try this recipe in my brand new Pressure Cooker and see if I would get the same results as cooking it on a stovetop.
Step by Step - Brunswick Stew Recipe
This recipes is so simple to make and will take no time to put together. The only thing you need for the meat to fall from the bone in 30 minutes, is a Pressure cooker.
- Chop up 1 onion.
- Peel 3 garlics.
- Put your vegtables and onions in the Pressure cooker
- Place the ham shank on top.
- Add the liquid ingredients along with spices into the pot.
- Set the Pressure cooker on soup/stew.
I set the Pressure Cooker on soup/stew setting because that is what is on mine but all Pressure Cooker are different so check your directions for the proper setting.
Variations - Brunswick Stew Recipe
This stew is usually made with pork and chicken. I choose to leave the chicken out. Here are few things that you can add to this dish.
- chicken
- potatoes
- carrots
- some shredded cabbage
Ways to Serve
I served the Brunswick Stew with corn bread. Other options would be a crusty loaf of bread or some saltines on the side.
Tip
The classic Brunswick Stew Recipes has brown sugar. I leave it out because I don't like meals that are sweet unless I splurge on a dessert. I add cheddar cheese on top on my stew.
