StemCells Therapy Treatment

I went in for StemCells Therapy Treatment  August 23, 2016, Tuesday at 1:00pm. The first time I heard of a stem cell treatment center was from a documentary that Farah Fawcett had made on her battle with cancer. She was my idol from childhood and of course I had all the Charlie Angel's dolls during my childhood.  While watching this document she showed a clinic in Germany that was treating her for tumors that were growing, she had anal cancer. She attended the Hallwang Private Oncology Clinic.

During the Bush years when they talked about stem cell, I never new that facilities were already available in Germany and were practicing this advancement in stem cell therapy for over 20 years. It was so controversial in the USA and was based on embryonic stem cell not adult cells. It was all about the fetus and the perception was very negative in the press. At this time I was unaware of adult stem cells until Farah' documentary.

From that time on, I have been researching stem cells treatment and what is actually available beside Kim Kardashian's facial practices with stem cells. This is not exactly helping the advancement of stem cell for treatment. The question I keep asking myself is, "Why are so many famous people who have all the money to burn leaving the traditional practice of medicine and getting stem cell therapy? Athletes with million dollar contracts are no longer relying on surgery. There had to be something to this and I was determine to find out.

This treatment is called called Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy, and it utilizes platelets from your own blood to rebuild a damaged tendon or cartilage. PRP was first developed in the 1970s and first used in Italy in 1987 in an open heart surgery procedure. It has since been applied to many different medical fields such as cosmetic surgery, dentistry, sports medicine and pain management. As of 2016 results of basic science and preclinical trials have not yet been confirmed in large-scale. No insurances cover this treatment and as I did a little digging neither does the NFL.

StemCells Therapy Treatment

Thursday - Treatment #1
Went for my first treatment and it was extremely painful. Oh boy, they take a lot of blood. Wondering if they are going to stop. They targeted all the injured areas and the pain was more then I could bare. Got home and could not walk on my own, was pretty depressed on this day. Started vomiting after the pain killer, which made this day not my best.

Friday
Was in pain most of the day and still need help walking. Began to split the pain killer in little chips at a time to see if I could tolerate them and had lots of ginger-ale. Sleeped most of the day.

Saturday
Was able to walk by myself today but feel like I'm going to fall. Feeling hungry for the first time since Thursday. The pain is different, Like something is burning inside, very strange, never felt anything like this before.

Sunday
I can walk without feeling like I'm going to lose my balance! This is making me very happy today. I though Jeffrey I want to cook today. I'm feeling a little better but cannot sit at all but I can stand by myself.

Monday
I am not able to sit or walk around the block. Decided to not fly out on a trip because of the pain and cannot lift or carry anything without feeling out of balance. Very disappointed today.

Tuesday
Feeling better but can't seem to sit for to long but moving around and laid down and worked on my blog all day.

Wednesday
I'm feeling better and was able to sit at my desk a while but got pretty tired by 4 o'clock. I'm super tired all of sudden without warning.

Thursday
Feeling more like myself today and went for a walk. I was not in any pain at that time. So the next visit is September 29th and we start all over again.

The complete treatment is 5 session with hope by the 2nd one I should feel improvement. Again, I have to increase my protein intake and have lots of water along with my vitamins everyday. The goal is to repair not stabilize which is a big difference in treatment. Send me a line if you have any questions or if you have had any success in PRP treatment. Till next time : )
