Matcha Bubble Tea
A specialty of Taiwan, Matcha Bubble Tea is like nothing I ever had before with the chewy tapioca pearls that dance into an iced matcha latte. It's such a delicious drink that you can skip dessert.

In a small bowl, whisk together the matcha powder and hot water until smooth and frothy.

Add a spoonful or two of tapioca pearls (boba) to the glass.
Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.
Add milk half of the cup.
Pour the prepared matcha tea over the ice milk, leaving some space at the top of the glass.
Insert a boba straw into the glass and give it a good stir to mix the ingredients together.
Add whip cream on top and sprinkle some matcha on top, optional of course!
Serve immediately and enjoy your homemade Matcha Bubble Tea!
Feel free to adjust the sweetness level and milk ratio according to your taste buds. Enjoy!
As a sweetener for the matcha milk tea recipe, I mix it with the green tea powder of the matcha. Here are a few of my favorite sweeteners for me and my husband.
- maple syrup
- dark brown sugar
- cane sugar
- coconut sugar
You can buy dry boba which needs to be cooked, I've only bought the one in liquid.
