Portuguese Fish Cakes From Mom

 1.5 lb salt cod fish 1.5 lb potatoes 1 ½ cup onion finely chopped 1 cup parsley chopped ¼ cup garlic finely chopped 2 eggs lightly beaten Vegetable oil for deep frying Lemons sliced


I buy vegetable oil and add a tablespoon of olive oil so it won't smoke when frying. I use my cast iron skillet to fry anything just because I like the way it evens the heat while cooking.

Tips & Tricks

They could also be called potato fish cakes but in Portuguese, they are called Bolinhos de bacalhau.
