  • 3 Anise
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 pd Beef Bone Shank
  • 2 cups Rice Noodles
  • ¼ cup Thai Basil
  • 2 tbsp Sriracha Sauce
  • 1 lime slices

Instructions

Prepare the broth

  • This recipe is so simple to make, it will take no time to put together. All that is needed is a crockpot to start.
  • Slice the online and carrots and place in the crockpot.
  • Put the meat on top.
  • Add seasoning, sugar and the Pho cube into the crockpot.
  • Add water and set on high.
  • Cook for about 4-5 hours or until the meat is tender.
  • Remove the meat and cut into bite size, then return to the crockpot.
  • When the pho is done, add frozen peas for about 5 minutes to cook.

Prepare the toppings

  • Boil the rice noodles as per package direction. Drain and set a side.
  • Pour pho into a bowl and add the toppings.
  • Add sriracha sauce for extra hot and spicy along with a squeeze of lime.
  • Serves about 6 people for a bowl. EnJoy!

Notes

  • I usually slice all the topping and leave on a platter to pick from with chop sticks and a soup spoon.
  • I will test the meat with a fork , if it splits and falls from the bone, that is when I know the broth has all the flavors from the meat bone.
