I scream, you scream, we all loves ice cream!
This is serious business with my family. We walked in like a mission of spies trying to secure grounds to accommodate a party of 5 in a booth. As the waitress approached us we assured her that our mission was complete, a booth had been found. But there was more, Menus to read! Could it be that now we had to go threw line by line to accurately create the perfect Sunday? All eyes were confused because the question was "Can we pick more then one flavor?" How soon the relief came to let us know the answer was YES!!!
At this point we all knew our next step - place your order. Everyone talked at the same time until the Captain (my mother) said I want a 5 scoop Turtle Sunday with chocolate chip ice cream. Eyes glazed with amazed that she could eat 5 scoops! None of the us had yet been able to do such a mission. But she had no fear and her confidence was high because she new this was nothing compared to what she had done in the pass. She admitted to us all that she was able to finish a gallon of ice cream by herself.
After we were able to finish our orders the waitress return shortly to our battleground and handed us our Sundays. No one spoke, complete silence among the young soldiers, they could not think at this moment. No one could say a word because we all knew their was limited time to finish our mission or it would melt and become ice cream soup, or worse, the Captain would eat our ice cream if she finished first.
The mission was complete and everyone was happy with the results and yes the Captain did finish first.
