It’s a Saturday morning and off to the zoo we go! The Miami ZOO so it’s about an hour away so before we headed out, we made a pit stop to my favorite place, Starbucks. It’s always the same thing, medium roast, tall and a little half and half.
Maybe this was not the best idea in the middle of summer but I was going to take pictures for the day. The humidity must of been at least 80% on this day and even rain showers weren’t cooling off. But it didn’t matter to me because I was at the zoo!
I love all animals of every shape and size at the Miami ZOO. I’m always amazed at the size and behavior they have for one another. When you only see animals on the animal channel, you don’t really get the size of the of the lion or elephant walking by you.
Jeff was thrilled and excited until we got there and sweat just starting dripping from us before we made it to the entrance. The heat was incredible, need I say more about it being 99 degrees! I was very clear that Jeff would not last long at the park unless we had some rain to cool off.
After walking the trail of lions, tigers and bears, we were drenched and ready to eat. This place is beautiful with everything you could need to make it a wonderful experiences for the family. They have food stations everywhere and bikes to ride through the park. They also have mist station to cool off and the lakes are filled with the ducks that you peddle back and forth.
I will admit the fake dinosaurs were pretty funny but definitely not the Jurassic Park movie. We sat down for some pull pork and plantains for lunch which were delicious but don’t forget to bring plenty of water. So for a summer day trip, we enjoyed the Miami ZOO for $14.95 a person which was pretty good for stay-cation.
